There are 24 known species of hamsters that belong to the family Cricetidae. The Syrian 1, Russian Dwarf Campbell, 

and Roborovski breeds are some of the most popular choices for pets. Hamsters are a type of rodent belonging to the subfamily Cricetinae. There are 19 species classified in seven genera 2, and they are found in various habitats throughout Europe and Asia. Syrian hamsters are solitary creatures that require their own living space. Due to their territorial temperament, keeping more than one Syrian 

hamster in the same enclosure can lead to serious injury or death. Hamsters are often considered to be great first pets, especially for kids, due to their cuteness, small size, and relatively easy care requirements.
